Summus Association Management is a California Corporation formed in 1998 to provide Management services to Common Interest Developments and Homeowners associations. Mr. Kenneth "Skip" Roberts is the principal shareholder in Summus. Prior to forming Summus, Mr. Roberts established a dba for Association Management Services in 1988. The primary place of business for Summus is 3547 Old Conejo Road # 103, Newbury Park, CA 91320. Summus maintains Fidelity Insurance with a $500,000 limit. This limit is not adequate to cover all operating and reserve funds for all associations managed by Summus.
Mr. Roberts meets the requirement of a Certified Common Interest Development Manager pursuant to Section 11502 of California Business and Professional Code. Mr. Roberts holds a Professional Community Association Manager ( PCAM® ) designation from Community Associations Institute. The PCAM® expires in August 2013 and is the highest designation awarded by any organization. There are approximately 2,100 PCAM's in the United States. Mr. Roberts is also certified as a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers. The CMCA expires in October 2013.
Mr Roberts started managing common interest developments in 1977 and he served in various leadership positions for local, state and national Community Associations Institute. He is on the national faculty for Community Associations Institute, and teaches two classes: Managing Large Scale Associations and The Essentials of Community Association Management. He served as president of the Channel Island Chapter of CAI, and is a founding member of the California Legislative Action Committee and the Large Scale Managers Committee. He has extensive experience managing associations from 18 homes to 4,560 homes and lots.
Additional management services are provided by Kim Carr, PCAM®. Kim Carr has over 8 years providing management services to community associations and Roberto Stevens- CMCA®, Leed AP®. Roberto Stevens is a Licensed General Contractor. They are supported by Brooke Stevens and Katherine Houlehan.
